The catch: on Unlimited plans, speed drops to about 1 Mbps for the rest of the day once the daily high-speed allowance is used.

When Saily data crawls on an iPhone, the cause is usually a crowded or weak network, according to Saily’s help centre. The fix is to make the phone reconnect, or to stop it from jumping to a slower network. These are Saily’s three steps for iOS, plus what to check if data stops working.

Fix 1: Toggle airplane mode

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Turn Airplane Mode on.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Turn Airplane Mode off.

Fix 2: Restart your iPhone

  1. Press and hold volume down + the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn the iPhone off.
  3. Hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

Fix 3: Pick the network manually

  1. Go to Settings → Mobile Service (called Cellular on some iPhones).
  2. Tap your installed Saily eSIM.
  3. Tap Network Selection.
  4. Turn Automatic off.
  5. Select the network provided by Saily.

If your iPhone has no internet at all

Saily’s iOS network guide adds these checks for “No Service” or data that won’t load:

The line or data isn’t on the eSIM

Settings → Mobile Service → your Saily eSIM: make sure Turn On This Line is on. Then go back, tap Mobile Data and select the Saily eSIM.

Data roaming is off

Settings → Mobile Service → your Saily eSIM → turn Data Roaming on.

5G is unstable

Settings → Mobile Service → your Saily eSIM → Voice & Data, and choose LTE, 4G or 3G instead of 5G.

APN is wrong

Settings → Mobile Service → your Saily eSIM → Mobile Data Network. Enter wbdata in the APN fields for both Mobile Data and LTE Setup, and leave the rest blank. If you’re unsure, ask Saily support for the right settings.

Last resort

Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. This clears roaming and APN settings too, so check them again afterwards.

Saily also recommends keeping iOS up to date to avoid compatibility issues.

Are you on an Unlimited plan?

Unlimited plans include a daily high-speed allowance. After you use it, speed drops to about 1 Mbps until midnight in your eSIM’s local time. If you need full speed before then, buy a regular plan for the same destination.

If you’re still setting up, see how to set up Saily eSIM on iPhone. On Android, use our Android slow speed guide instead.

FAQ

Why is Saily slow on my iPhone?

Saily names network congestion and coverage as the usual causes. On Unlimited plans, speed also drops to about 1 Mbps once the daily high-speed allowance is used.

Where is Network Selection on iPhone?

Settings → Mobile Service (or Cellular) → tap your eSIM → Network Selection.

Should I turn off 5G for my Saily eSIM?

If the connection is unstable, Saily suggests choosing LTE, 4G or 3G under Voice & Data.

Does resetting network settings delete my eSIM?

Saily’s guide says the reset restores network settings such as data roaming and APN to defaults, so turn those back on afterwards.
