Saily covers Madrid with its Spain plans, from $3.99 for 1 GB. A 5 GB plan ($9.99) handles a week of maps, Metro routes and day trips to Toledo or Segovia.
The catch: plans are data only, so you get no local phone number for calls or texts.
Madrid is big, and between the Metro, museum tickets and late dinners you’ll lean on your phone a lot. A Spain eSIM gets you online at Barajas before you reach passport control.
