Saily’s official Android guide includes Xiaomi phones. The app does most of the work. The part that varies is your phone’s SIM settings, so this guide gives both menu paths Saily lists and what to look for if neither matches.
Does your Xiaomi support Saily?
Not every phone supports eSIM, and support can depend on the country. Before you buy:
- Check your exact Xiaomi model on Saily’s eSIM-compatible devices list.
- Make sure the phone isn’t carrier-locked. A locked phone can’t use an eSIM.
- Check that it runs Android 10 or later, the minimum for the Saily app.
If your phone has no eSIM, Saily suggests a physical eSIM.me card instead. You’ll need to contact Saily support for the QR code.
Download the app and buy a plan
- Open the Google Play Store, search for Saily and tap Install.
- Open the app and sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft.
- Tap Explore plans, select your destination, tap Continue and check out.
- Tap Got a coupon? at checkout and enter DEAL15 for 15% off.
Install the eSIM
- Connect to Wi-Fi and open the Saily app.
- Tap Install eSIM, select the device and tap Continue.
- Tap Start eSIM install, then Allow. Don’t close the app while it installs.
- Name the eSIM if you like and tap Next.
- Choose your SIM for calls, messages and mobile data.
- Return to the Saily app, tap Continue and follow its steps to turn on the line, enable roaming and use Saily for data.
Finding the SIM settings on a Xiaomi
Saily’s Android guide shows two paths:
- Settings → Connections → SIM manager
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
Saily notes that Android phones other than Samsung may use different setting names. If neither path matches, open Settings and look for the section that lists your SIM cards and mobile networks, or use the Settings search bar.
Turn on data roaming
In the SIM section, tap the Saily eSIM, make sure it’s switched on, and turn on data roaming for it. Then select Saily as your mobile data SIM.
Manual install with an activation code
If the app install shows an error, tap View instructions in the Saily app to get your details. Then:
- Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (or your phone’s SIM section).
- Tap Add SIM, then Download a new eSIM.
- Tap Need help? and choose to enter the code manually.
- Enter the details from the Saily app, tap Continue, then Download.
- Turn on the eSIM and enable mobile data and roaming for it.
When you arrive
The plan activates automatically when you land and connect to a supported network. Turn off your personal SIM, or just its data roaming if you want calls on it, and turn off mobile data switching.
If it won’t connect
If the Saily APN is missing, open the app and leave it open for up to 5 minutes. It configures the APN for you.
Turn flight mode on, wait 15 seconds and turn it off.
Hold the power button (or power plus volume down) to reach the power menu, then restart.
Search Settings for reset and choose the network settings reset. This also resets data roaming and APN, so set those again.
