Saily’s Taiwan eSIM starts at $3.99 for 1 GB. For about a week, the 5 GB plan ($11.99) covers maps, rides and messaging.
The catch: plans are data only, so you get no local phone number for calls or texts.
Taiwan trips usually start in Taipei, then take the high-speed rail to Taichung, Tainan or Kaohsiung, with Taroko Gorge or Jiufen on the side. Coverage is strong, and a Taiwan eSIM is ready at Taoyuan.
