Saily works on Android phones that support eSIM and aren’t carrier-locked, including Samsung and Google Pixel models, and installs from its app in a few taps. Plans cover 200+ destinations, from country plans to a 121-country Global plan.
The catch: Android menus differ by brand, so the setting names on your phone may not match these steps exactly.
Android makes travel data easy if your phone has an eSIM chip. You buy a Saily plan, install it at home and keep your own SIM in the tray for calls.
Check that your Android phone can use Saily
Saily needs a phone that supports eSIM and is not locked to a carrier. On Samsung phones:
- Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager. If you see Add eSIM, your phone isn’t carrier-locked and can use Saily.
- Or open Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Network operators. If you can see and choose other networks, the phone is unlocked.
Other brands use different names, so look for a SIM or eSIM section under Network & internet.
How to install Saily on Android
Stay on Wi-Fi and keep the Saily app open while it installs.
- Open the Saily app, tap Install eSIM, pick the device and tap Continue.
- Tap Start eSIM install, then Allow, and wait a few seconds without closing the app.
- Name the eSIM if you like, then choose which SIM to use for calls, messages and mobile data.
- Go back to the Saily app, tap Continue, and follow its steps to turn on the eSIM line, enable roaming and use Saily for mobile data.
If the automatic install shows an error, tap View instructions in the app for your setup details. On Samsung, add them under Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code from service provider → Enter activation code. On phones like Pixel, use Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Download a new eSIM. Our Samsung activation guide has the full walkthrough.
Turn on data roaming for the Saily line
Saily needs data roaming on for its own line. On Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming. On Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → tap the Saily eSIM, make sure it’s on, then switch on roaming. Roaming on the Saily line uses your Saily plan, not your home carrier.
Check the Saily eSIM is switched on in your SIM settings. If the APN is missing, open the Saily app and keep it open for up to 5 minutes so it can set itself up. Still stuck? See Saily eSIM showing inactive on Android.

FAQ
Does Saily work on Samsung and Pixel phones?
Yes, if the model supports eSIM and isn’t carrier-locked. Saily has separate setup steps for Pixel because its menus differ.
Do I need to remove my physical SIM?
No. Keep it in, choose your own SIM for calls and Saily for mobile data, and switch your own SIM’s data off abroad.
Why does Android show different data use than the Saily app?
Your phone’s counter may have reset on a different date and may include Wi-Fi or other SIMs. Saily counts all data that passed through its network during the plan.
